The confession not only affects her - everyone on her team in the relays could also be stripped of their medals.

      ha ha, i have to laugh.. victor conti said years ago marion jones used steroids and she was going to sue him for saying so.. who has the last laugh now? she should have to forfeit any and all assets acquired by cheating, including money and possessions.. i have no sympathy for her at all.. liar liar pants on fire..

        how bout a gay olympics, doper olympics, special olympics, heterosexual olympics, conglomerate olympics, convict olympics, terrorist olympics, army and navy olympics, blackwater olympics, innocent victims olympics.. and the list goes on.. if greg louganis competed in the olympics would he still be eligible for the gay olympics? the whole olympic thing is all about money.

It's just sad.
So, I think we have to decide as a world, do we just let the athletes do whatever they want to improve their performance or do we say that nobody can do it?
Saying nobody can do it doesn't seem to be working what with Landis and Jones this week. Letting everybody do it seems irresponsible, so I guess I don't know.
I feel for her, but mostly I feel bad for all the kids that look up to her.

    What drove her to do it? Was it greed? Was it the drive to succeed in a sport and a country that reward doing 'whatever it takes'?
    As I've said before, I can feel bad for the person (and forgive them) without accepting what they did as a good thing.

  if they had half a brain they should have seen her muscular development and smelled a rat.. they turned as much of a blind eye as did the entire athletic committee, just like they did with barry bonds.. the whole thing is a sad joke.

  This and all the other stories about athletes who have used performance enhancers does throw a huge shadow on the world of sports. You just don't know who is really putting their heart and soul into it anymore.

Organized sports and most athletes involved, are as messed up as are our world's leadership. As far as her cry's for her track career, they fall on deaf ears where it matters most.

Any athlete found to be taking performance enhancing drugs should be banned from participating in any athletic event. This sends the wrong message to our kids.
