As the Wimbledon tennis tournament begins in Britain, so does flooding across swathes of the country. Why do Wimbledon and rain seem to go hand in hand?

    It also always rains in Glastonbury, Reading Festival and important football matches. I guess it just always rains period!

      Why does rain and Wimbledon go hand in hand? BECAUSE IT'S IN F*****G ENGLAND!!!

        I'm a brit living in England. What i can't understand about the rain and Wimboledon is that it happens every year so the logical thing would be to move it to anothe fortnight surely!!!

            It always seemed to be raining while I attended school in London. One year (I think it was 1959) we had 334 days with precipitation. It was quite cool as well. I recall that we managed to squeeze both Spring and Summer into two weeks in May.

                The Wimbledon tournament is the "All-England Championship." Perhaps you would like to select which of the English deserts should be chosen to host it.
