Track officials made honest attempts Sunday to prevent a repeat of the can-throwing incidents that marred the ends of events there in 2004 and at Phoenix International Raceway two weeks ago. They brought in additional security, including armed police officers who patrolled the grandstands. Using the public address system, track president Grant Lynch pleaded with fans to behave. Even Dale Earnhardt Jr. tried to intervene.

A few years back when Chuck Knoblach left the Twins to play for White Sox (I think) and the White Sox played the Twins, Twins fans threw D batteries at him. Not that it makes it "right" be he was a royal jerk. I think he pushed a fan down once and said some stuff that alienated him with Twins Fans while playing for the twins.

Can we combine the bra throwing incident and the D size batteries? Actually forget the battery part...just the D's. That might be a favorable outcome.

I guess you can expect that kind of stuff when there are thousands of drunk people all in one place.
It's disgusting, what jerks!

It was beer that did that. I doubt there were allot of Rednecks at Woodstock 2, and that ended in a riot.
People act even worse after allot of soccer games.
My husband is a Redneck and has been to several races and really ticked by what SOME of the Dale Sr. fans did.
All they accomplished was smudging the memory of a great man, they thought they were defending.
