Jan. 9, 2007, 12:42 a.m.Ohio State played terribly in the game. Hats off to the Gators, as much of a Buckeye fan as I am, they deserved to win this one.
I think the bigger issue here is the unsung tale of Boise State - the only undefeated team in college football this year. This will just lend more credit to those in favr of a playoff system rather than the BCS - I imagine this is what all the sports pundits on ESPN and Fox Sports will be talking about over the off season.

Jan. 9, 2007, 3:34 p.m.I contend that Florida is no. 1, Boise St. is no. 2 and Sooners are no. 3, based on overall bowl play. This game and the Fiesta bowl to an extent, show the fallacy of BCS ratings. I would like to see a playoff but can't really imagine a fair one game system. Oklahoma could just as easily beat Boise St. the next time, or not, etc. But Florida was convincing. So just how many games would it take to really find the no. 1, 2, 3 etc.? Then there is conference play.

Jan. 9, 2007, 2:36 p.m.With respect to the college football system, bcs, ap, coachs, you don't know anything.

Jan. 9, 2007, 2:41 p.m.So the college football system is based on:
The AP: Sports writers opinion polls
The Coaches: Another Opinion poll
The Computer: Uses a ranking system based on.....the other two opinion polls.

Jan. 9, 2007, 4:17 p.m.But who did they play? Send them down to the southeastern conference for one season and watch them go 0-10! Florida beat the best team in the country and now they are the best team in the country.

Jan. 9, 2007, 3:05 p.m.The Big 10 is grossly overrated - both Ohio State and Michigan got stomped in their respective bowls. The "experts" are proven wrong again

Jan. 9, 2007, 4:13 p.m.I agree. What a joke of a conference. They don't even have a championship game. The Big Slow Ten (plus 1)

Jan. 9, 2007, 4:10 p.m.All of u r calling for a playoff coz ur team(OSU) didnt win wen they actually played sum1 decent. So don't give all this crap about BSU being better....they dont deserve to be 2 or 3. They played oklahoma and barely won...its clear they cant win like this week in week out.
GO GATORS!!!!FINALLY ALL OF THE OSU FANS R SHUTING UP!!!

Jan. 9, 2007, 4:20 p.m.Last night's game just proves that the SEC is the hardest conference to play in week after week. Florida struggled during the regular season but got better as the year went on. Last night they showed why they deserve to be number 1! They peaked in the National Championship game. Ohio State peaked against Michigan.

Jan. 9, 2007, 6:34 p.m.There was never a doubt that Florida would knock out Ohio State in the game.
OSU hadn't played anyone remotely good this season- even Michigan proved to be over rated.
For some reason the media hangs on to the olden days when the little 11 were good.
That was back in the days of Woody Hayes and Bo S. not in the last 15 years however.

Jan. 9, 2007, 8:19 p.m.I told you guys when Florida beat LSU earlier in the season but noone believed me that defensive performance was dominating and the offense played the best it has all season.
GO GATORS!!!!...

Jan. 9, 2007, 8:32 p.m.my dear little hairless nut ike.
the 2 teams OSU played and beat that were #2 were texas and michigan. Ofcourse texas didnt show much this eason as they went 10-3 woohoo....such an accomplishment for OSU there. And michigan ended up 11-2 and got wooped once they played someone decent. As for Penn st.? well they really have not done well this season as penn st. ended up at 9-4. which also is not good for ur info. and yes they mite have a 2-1 record aginst the SEC.....but wat 2 teams did they beat? Its obvious that the Big Ten in filled with alot of pretenders. And OSU shuld have killed florida, they had 51 days to prepare..which can hurt a little. The reason why OSU lost is because they simply have not played any teams that have this fast of a line.......can't beat the SEC!

Jan. 9, 2007, 8:35 p.m.and if the gators were in the big ten then i belive they wuld be 12-0 easy

Jan. 10, 2007, 8:16 a.m.I'm sure Boise State is good but they would never even come close to beating Florida. why are you trashing such an incredible team? That your style? trash trash and more trash?

Jan. 9, 2007, 8:54 p.m.osu loses one and to who else of course but texas however, plays well throughout the season not averaging the the amount of points per game that youngs offense did though, and then gets spanked horrifically and made to look like a high school team playing a national champ. it was funny watching smith try to emulate vince young. correct me if im wrong but if anyone should have recieved the heisman, it should have been antonio pitman. i mean if young came up second and he was qb and did all he did to create a perfect season then it wouldnt be ethical to give it to anyone but another runningback.

Jan. 9, 2007, 9:13 p.m.Considering that very discouraging, for Florida, kick off return they showed true championship heart by coming back against this undefeated #1 team and then soundly trouncing them. amazing performance!

Jan. 9, 2007, 9:41 p.m.The Buckeyes played like if they ate gator meat before the game. Gator meat will give a diarrhea to anyone who hasn't eaten any before!!!!

Jan. 10, 2007, 7:28 a.m.When I was a kid growing up in Salem, Mass., being half Irish desent, I became a huge Notre Dame fan until other loyalties much later in life lessened my love. It is a shame how their program has fallen.
Sort of reminds me in pro basketball of the Bostin Celtics under the greatest coach ever, red aurbach. Look at them now.

Jan. 9, 2007, 10:20 p.m.I'm not one to make excuses for the Buckeyes, and I'm even a huge fan. One thing I hate more than anything are excuses. I heard during the game about the "51 day break" and all that. Whatever happened to the days when the team that beat you was just... better than you?
I may want to kill myself for saying this, but congratulations to the Gators! I take my hat off to you.
As to the buckeyes, good luck next year boys I'll be rootin' for ya! Hopefully next chance you guys get at the National Title your twins from the parallel universe who don't know how to play football at all won't show up instead of you guys.
Who cares about what divisions are harder and what not. How about everyone joins together and cheers for one common goal. Not a particular team, but for College football in it's totality! Gotta love that stuff.

Jan. 9, 2007, 10:39 p.m.Boise State. In college football you play against a bunch nobodies, you get treated like nobodies. Hint* In future schedule non-conference power house schools and may be we'll look in your direction cause everyone knows your conference is lame.

Jan. 10, 2007, 12:14 a.m.Whatever man. If Boise State played the Gators schedule they would have lost more games. They're a great team but not the Gators.
Gooooooo Gators! National Champions!
