Very unfortunate. He was also one hell of a kicker

Ya gotta wonder if it was suicide.

The police have ruled out suicide

If he was a drinker, maybe he fell.

That is a bit insinuative, don't you think? Unless you know him, that was kind of jumping the gun.

I am a drinker. Perhaps the word if is not in your vocabulary.

You might be a drinker, but your usage of semantics needs a looking at. Having a cocktail while surfing? Could be a typo. Sorry, had to say that.....lol

Perhaps I am the one having a cocktail.... I read that wrong! My "humbled" apologies, but I still think that was insinuative.

I grew up in that area and have been on/near those cliffs often. It is VERY slippery, especially when the fog comes in. This is a very sad occourance. He was good for USC, and will be hard to replace

You are 100% correct. I lived in the Los Angeles area for over 50 years. Been to Santa Monica Beach several times.

At the top of those cliffs there are several warning signs as well as chain link fencing, if I remember right. But people have yanked some of the fencing of the poles, so it's possible to sneak through. And after dark it's almost impossible to see anything.

Poor Kid. He Could Have Been Good For Almost Any NFL Team Too.

Rest in peace

His father Joe was a kicker for the NY Giants in the late 70s/early 80s IIRC - I knew the surname sounded familiar.

Really sad

Always sad for the world when a some one so young with such promise passes on. My sympathy and prayers to his family.
