July 8, 2006, 6:35 p.m.Tennis is a whoosie sport played by sissys with big egos. Although the women look great. Where's the blood and guts on the field ? Even a sport like golf has a few sand traps. The men have tantrums similar to 5 year olds and have hissy fits with the line judges. The matches are away too long and uninteresting and the players are overpaid. So whats to like about tennis.

As for the tennis, Mauresmo played a solid game against our champion Henin who simply imploded with too many unforced errors, too bad for Belgium :(, we are all very dissapointed by the loss. As for the comment on the Williams sisters, where have you been? They are no longer serious contenders and haven´t been for quite a while. The Federov vs Nadal game ought to be a really exciting match, experienced veteran with super ball control versus a young and super athletic up and comer, I´m looking forward to that!

Of course you are right about Venus last year, but she barely even qualified this time. Let´s not forget that Henin was out of action for an injury for almost a year and came back to win Roland Garros and placed second at Wimbledon. That said, I hope the Williams sisters can build on their previous successes, they are definitely good for the sport and the USA.

July 8, 2006, 11:36 p.m.Good to see a new winner,looking forward to men's final.William's sisters won 5 of last 6 Wimbledon's and was in the final of the 6th one.Venus was top 10 seeded in this one.I'm from U.S.A. and like too see different winners,not the same ole,same ole.Congrat's Amelie.

July 8, 2006, 11:41 p.m.I am glad that she won. She deserves it. Her nerves didn't get the best of her and now that she beat Justine when she was healthy, I think all of those comments about her not being able to win the big matches will stop. She now has 2 grand slams under her belt. The thing is now, how long can she stay at #1 and can she another major and which one? Also can she defend her Wimbeldon crown next year? But the test will be Serina, Venus and Lindsey will be back next year.

I'm in high school and I play tennis. I'm only a sophomore, but I start at middle linebacker on our state champion football team and am also a prominent wrestler and boxer for my school. I know all about blood and guts on the field. I don't know if you've heard of UFC, but i participate in that extra curricularly.
Try to play tennis before you disrespect it. It's one of the most difficult sports i play, and I'm actually an athlete.

July 9, 2006, 2:06 a.m.She´s definitely very muscular. Check this out: tiny little Henin serves at 185 km/hr, that´s about 100 miles an hour.....she´s a bad ass little woman and you should expect to see her kicking some but at the US open.....

I mean, I play my own kind of tennis with my hands and my own balls... but we really don't need to get into any of that. But seriously, how you can watch two people smack a ball back and forth for hours on end? I don't even think it would be exciting to watch while drinking beer. GIVE ME SOME DAMN FOOTBALL!!!!

Imagine snuggling up with her and then your eye's blackened cuz she hit you with her bicep. Not exactly my kind of thing. Even the Venus twins are pretty manly looking.
